This law office, located in the iconic Corujas building in São Paulo, is a project by FGMF Arquitetos. Unlike conventional office buildings, this structure arranges various offices around gardens, covered and open terraces, creating a unique and pleasant environment.
The main access to the office is on the building's ground floor. Here, most of the team is situated in a bright, integrated space. The staff area, administrative team room, partner offices, restrooms, and kitchen are all located on this level. The partners’ offices are arranged around the staff area in an L-shape, featuring glass walls with carbon steel-framed doors that form elegant entry portals within the continuous glass plane. Inside these offices, the ceilings are clad in wood, and the floors feature slate planks, which extend into the hallway outside.
Additionally, there is a large terrace with a restroom and a lounge area integrated into the staff space, providing a comfortable and collaborative work environment. The staff area has carpeted floors for acoustic comfort, with carbon steel elements that support lighting fixtures and a ceiling with warm-colored baffles (foam and fabric slats). Steel plates extend from the ceiling down along the windows, creating structures for carbon steel shelves used for storing books, equipment, and decorative objects, unifying the open space on this floor.
In the entryway, the sleek hall is organized with shelves, a secretary desk, a carbon steel panel and ceiling, and the same gray slate plank flooring. A bench designed by FGMF occupies the central space: composed of four differently shaped, leather-covered modules, this piece dialogues with the irregular geometry of the reception area. Ahead, a sculptural staircase connects the ground floor to the lower level. Also made of carbon steel plates, which form the railing of the stairwell, this staircase serves as more than a mere circulation element: it includes a bench on the lower floor, a small space for a minibar and coffee machine, becoming a functional and aesthetic linking element.
The office features several garden areas, bringing greenery into the workspace and fostering a connection with nature. These gardens provide spaces for relaxation and socialization, enhancing the quality of life for building occupants. On the ground floor, the terrace includes a large dining table near the kitchen. Other seating areas along the garden offer spots for informal meetings, video calls, and phone calls, integrated with the greenery. The largest of these, on the lower level, is visible from one of the partner’s lounge and work areas, as well as the main meeting room. In this room, a large table with a concrete base and cantilevered wood top was custom-designed by FGMF to fit the space.
